quick question about volume

 Hi all,

I've read that the optimum position for the volume pot on the dac1 pre is between 11 and 3. Mine puts out comfortable to loud listening levels just before 9 oclock-- is this ok? Should I attenuate any jumpers?

 my system - Mark Levinson 334 with B&W 804..
I do a direct connection Dac to Power amp....a volume control at 9 o'clock is fine with me.
Do i have to change anything to get better sound?
