Input voltage for power amp lower than standard

Input voltage for power amp lower than standard

Hi,

I'm thinking of buying an used Primare A30.2 power amp, but reading the specs I can see that input voltage is 2V for XLR and 1V for RCA. Is this normal? Would there be any problem using the DAC1 that has double the output for both connections?

I'd appreciate any knowledge anyone might have about this.

Thanks!

Paco

Hello Paco,

This should work fine with the DAC1. While the DAC1 will output higher levels than the A30.2 requires for full output, keep in mind that these levels are with the volume control up all the way. Generally, one never listens to their system with the volume control maxed out.  In addition, the DAC's balanced output can be adjusted via jumper setting to a wide range of output levels.

I hope this helps.
