I hope this question isn't a 'repeat' since I just registered and got a password, etc. 5 minutes ago.

My question is please tell me which option to choose in the latest version of QuickTime (and iTunes as of 12/3/11) with my iTunes library on my PC and Windows 7Pro.

Under the 'Audio' tab in Quicktime, there are 3 choices:  safe mode, direct, and windows audio sound.  The first 2 give options for bit rate and sampling, the third does not.  Which should I use with my DAC 1 Pre USB connected?  Also, the music I have in the library is my own CDs which I imported into iTunes.  There are no fancy high resolution files that I know of in the library, just regular CDs.  If there are any adjustments to be made in Windows 7, I would appreciate that too.  I know about maxing out the volume on both and turning off all the sounds that Windows makes. Thank You.  Sorry, I forgot to mention that the files are in AIFF format if that makes any difference.
