non os dacs

I just read your piece on the Unique Evils of digital audio. Here's my question - if aliasing is the problem you describe and I have no reason to doubt you then why on earth would anyone design non oversampling dacs? I had one of two of them but noticed a considerable improvement in my system's sound quality when I replaced them with the benchmark.
