Benchmark Media Announces the Introduction of the ADC1 USB at the Audio Engineering Society (AES) Convention in New York Oct. 5-8, 2007
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Benchmark Media Systems announces the ADC1 USB Analog-to-Digital Converter at
the 123rd AES Convention in New York City, October 5-8, 2007
SYRACUSE, New York, October 4, 2007 - Benchmark Media Systems is pleased to
announce the introduction of the ADC1 USB Analog-to-Digital Converter at the 123rd
AES Convention in New York City, October 5-8, 2007.
The ADC1 USB is a reference-quality, 2-channel, 24-bit, 192-kHz analog-to-digital
converter featuring Benchmark's Advanced USB Audio™ technology, phase-accurate
UltraLock™ clock system with multi-function clock input and word clock output, and
Benchmark's 9-segment dual-range digital LED metering. The ADC1 USB has five
digital outputs (1 balanced XLR, 2 coaxial, 1 optical and 1 USB).
Director of Engineering, John Siau, notes, "The two 24-bit, 192-kHz capable coaxial
outputs (Main and Aux) as well as the 24-bit, 96-kHz capable USB output can all
operate simultaneously at three different sample rates. In addition, the Aux output
also has the ability to pass a simultaneous, dithered, 16-bit signal directly to
a CD-R or DAT while the other outputs operate at 24-bit and at independent sample
rates. This is a unique feature only available on our ADC1 USB."
The UltraLock™ clock system insures ultra-low jitter performance in all clock modes
and makes the ADC1 USB well suited for critical playback in studio control and
mastering rooms, and high-end audiophile applications. The half wide 1RU enclosure
also makes the ADC1 USB an excellent choice for location recordings as well as
broadcast facilities.
The new ADC1 USB is expected to begin shipping worldwide in November, 2007 and
will cost 1,775.00 USD. It can be ordered now, directly from Benchmark Media or by
contacting their authorized United States dealers or worldwide distributors.
Formed in 1948, the Audio Engineering Society is the leading professional community
dedicated solely to the advancement of audio technology. Each convention has
valuable educational opportunities, including a full program of technical papers,
seminars and workshops covering current research and new concepts and applications.
An integral part of each convention is a comprehensive exhibit of professional
equipment. The United States convention is an opportunity for over 20,000 visitors
and 400 exhibitors to discuss, view and demo the newest technology available in
the world of audio.
In addition to announcing the ADC1 USB at the AES Convention, Benchmark team
members John Siau, Elias Gwinn (Applications Engineer) and Rory Rall (Sales Manager)
will be present to discuss and demonstrate Benchmark products at booth 454.
